SCUBA Diving in the Thousand Islands Region

SCUBA diving is a major sport in the 1000 Islands Region. The crystal clear waters of the St. Lawrence River
are home to many shipwrecks, the playgrounds of sport divers and the main destination of SCUBA tours from throughout the world. All skill levels
are accommodated, from novice divers comfortable in relatively shallow waters, to highly skilled drivers who wish to explore depths
exceeding several hundred feet. There are numerous dive shops
and professional divers providing gear, instruction and certification throughout the Thousand Islands Region. |
 Many sport divers travel to the 1000 Islands Region for underwater tours and exploration trips and
vacations and holidays throughout the year. Some local dive shops conduct private and group dive tours.
Because of the extreme clarity of the water, even snorkel divers enjoy rewarding experiences exploring
shallow water shipwrecks. |
