The 1000 Islands Region is rich in history. This history has given rise to many museums, adding to the many other attractions that draw tens of thousands of visitors to the Thousand Islands Region each year. Each of these museums give salute to a bygone era in a manner that inpires respect and greater appreciation for the present. Some of these museums feature the art of famous past residents of the area, such as the paintings and sculptures of Frederick Remington. Many display a wide variety of antiques, from antique furniture and household items, to antique boats that plied the waters of the 1000 Islands Region a century or more ago.
